Clients are seen in my wooden cabin surrounded by National Trust woods offering a restorative and peaceful environment. I bring my interest in the creative arts, poetry, story and art, into my counselling work, finding that myths and images offer clients a new way to see their unique life’s journey.
My initial training in counselling was in the 1980s while working with unemployed teenagers. Following a career in the NHS, I completed a Counselling Diploma at Re.Vision Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis followed by their Diploma in Psychotherapy. I have pursued my interest in Jung including an ongoing Jungian art therapy training and also the approaches to the body and soul developed by Marion Woodman and Marian Dunlea.
In addition to my private practice I run personal development workshops in China and New Zealand on questions in midlife, relationships, and masculine and feminine.
I am a registered psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) in addition to being a full member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I adhere to the ethical frameworks of UKCP and Re.Vision, have regular supervision for my work and undertake ongoing professional development.
